A new Kiwi variety is born: Indigo Telos
Surely you knew the green, golden or even red varieties. Well, The Teloscope has created the only variety that can be traced with Telos blockchain technology.
The Spanish kiwifruit production is mainly located in northern Spain, specially in Galicia and Asturias. Consumption has been increasing in recent years, and KiwiNatur grower and processor responds to that increase not only by planting new orchards but enabling their customers to track the data backwards to prove the quality, origin and freshness of their kiwifruit. In the case of KiwiNatur they want to highlight their ecological production through Telos technology.
And it is The Teloscope team that makes this possible. We have developed the component that enables Seresco’s precision farming software to interact with the Telos blockchain, as well as the query app for their customers. This project represents a great leap in quality from our previous traceability solutions. As the integration with the precision farming tool enhances the information that can be recorded by the traceability application. From the perspective of the farmer, this integration is very beneficial, as they don’t have to perform anything else than their usual workflow with the precision farming application.
This work has been carried out as part of the K-Chain innovation project, which CTIC, our host organization, and Seresco, KiwiNatur’s technology provider, have successfully accomplished. We hope that this project opens many more opportunities to work with the ecological agriculture sector. As they can greatly benefit from showing the value of their products to their costumers. While also fostering a more sustainable and reliable food production system.
