Earlier this year, when the first teaser for this movie was released, I read this comment on Twitter: “This movie will either be the best CBM (Comic Book Movie) ever or the worst”.

I have to say this: This is definitely one of the best movies ever made.
It has a creative script with excellent references and good direction. It also has cameos that will blow your mind. There should be no doubt about that.

Plot

When you start watching the movie, you will feel as if it was yesterday, not 6 years ago.

If you remember, at the end of Deadpool 2, Wade used Cable’s time machine to fix his misfortunes and save the friends he had caused to die.

When Wade did that, we hadn’t seen Loki yet and we didn’t even know what the TVA was. Wade thought that what he did would have no consequences, but we learned from Loki that if you travel through time, you find the TVA…

That’s what I love most about cinematic universes. The intervening years and the productions that have come out have managed to build such a bridge between the two movies. Good job, Marvel.

Wade learns that his universe will be destroyed because of his time travel and decides to make a new friend to save his universe and his friends: Wolverine! He travels through the multiverse for a while and tries to find the best Wolverine for him and meets many different Logan variants (one of them is Henry Cavill). Then he meets a Logan who has let down his world, who is sitting in a bar drinking his drink and is not even liked by the bartender who serves him, and together they embark on an adventure…

Cast

Ryan Reynolds is also one of the screenwriters of this movie, and he proves how loyal a comic book reader he is, how good a comedian he is, and how much he respects his work with every second of the movie.

After 25 years of portraying the character of Wolverine, Hugh Jackman made his jubilee with the movie ‘Logan’ released in 2017.

After leaving the role at its peak, this comeback was worrisome for fans. “It ended in the best possible way, don’t ruin it!” some said. And they were right…

I don’t want to offend Logan fans, but I want to say that Hugh Jackman did a much better job here than he did in Logan. He was absolutely born to play this character!

References and Cameos

  • Naturally, there are hundreds of Loki and multiverse references in the film. In one scene, Deadpool even specifically mentions Loki season 1 episode 5.
  • Chris Evans returns as Johnny Storm.
  • We see characters from the Marvel movies of the 2000s, such as Elektra (Jennifer Garner) and Blade (Wesley Snipes)
  • Channing Tatum as Gambit!
  • Dafne Keen returns as X-23.

Result

Marvel has finally emerged from the depression it has been in since Endgame and has vowed to bring Marvel fans back to the days of screaming in the theater, just like the old days. I can tell you that your jaw will drop watching all those “slow-motion action scenes”.

At the same time, Deadpool & Wolverine, besides being a good action-comedy movie, has dozens of moments that will bring you to tears. Honestly, I never expected this movie to be so emotional.

Finally, Deadpool & Wolverine reminds us of many things that superhero movies have forgotten to do for a long time. It reminds us of the virtues of friendship, sacrifice and heroism. And it gives us one of the best Superhero movies ever made with the creativity that it never withholds from its audience.
