#Don’t Spoil The Thunderbolts*

Marvel’s surprise guerrilla marketing was a huge spoiler

I take umbrage with Marvel’s Studios’ decision to spoil their latest MCU entry, Thunderbolts*. At the same time, this was easily one of the smartest and funnest marketing campaigns I’ve ever seen for a superhero movie, or any movie for that matter.

Trust me when I say I hate spoilers. Hate them with a capital H. I’m a huge Marvel Comics/MCU fan, but the winds were taken out of my sails when I went to see Thunderbolts* opening weekend because some bad actor (not a literal actor, but a degenerate who makes bad choices) posted the biggest spoiler from the movie on social media, which, unfortunately, came into my line of sight.

I know the risks when it comes to surfing the internet haphazardly, as one does, when a new movie and/or TV show gets released. It’s like stepping into a minefield and expecting a positive outcome. Well, as I just explained above, nothing positive came from my post-Thunderbolts-debut stroll on the Net, and unfortunately, my superhero ability to erase my memory decided not to work that day.

But even if my memory-erasing powers did work, or if I could break the sound barrier and fly at lightning speed around the Earth to reverse its rotation and go…
