A death metal inspired characters sheet. The Hit Points space is a skull. Otherwise it is a simple, typical role playing game character sheet.

For those of you that just joined us, OSR stands for Old School Roleplaying. It basically means anything that’s like Dungeon & Dragons. Old school is fine, but OSR-ians that think the “R” means Renaissance are insufferable. And if they pronounce it “ri - NAY - suhns” like in the UK but aren’t from the UK, doubly so.

But, for as much as I shit on OSR, I have to admit that some designers are doing interesting things with the bones of AD&D. The last few years have brought us The Mecha Hack, Solar Blades & Cosmic Spells, and Macchiato Monsters, all of which have broken a lot of the established OSR conventions. But if I was giving out awards for Most Interesting OSR Games for Medium Readers, the first two would go to Mörk Borg and Troika!.

The cover to Mork Borg. The title takes up the top half of the cover, written in messy painted-on letters. A demon skeleton warrior stands in front of the title, carrying a sword and shield. It has a bat like face, goat horns, and an inverted chess on its forehead.
