What weight do we put on connections? What does it mean if you have a short conversation with a random stranger on a bus one day? What does it mean to lock eyes with someone for a few precious seconds while waiting in line at the grocery store? What if you accidentally touch hands while reaching for the same book on the bookshelf? What about opening the door for someone? Almost bumping into them and then saying sorry? Our lives are filled with these little moments, riddled with them in fact.

What about when Nora Moon draws on Hae Sung’s arm during class? A moment that Nora recalls when asked by her mother: “Who do you like at school nowadays?” We forget that they happen, until we don’t, either because someone reminds us of that moment or because we have another moment of connection.

From waiting for the bus and someone asks you for the time, to going for a walk and seeing someone walking their dog. From asking a stranger for directions in a new town, to watching each other drink water on a hot day. Small moments of connection riddle our lives. We are inundated with them. We are awash with these minute connections, these moments of humanity in a sea of noise. What does it all mean?

What about when Nora’s mum organizes a date for Nora and Hae Sung? Nora and Hae Sung…
