To someone who used to fall asleep to Scott Brick’s awesome narration of the later Dune books in the series and speculate on Skype calls about the way an Honored Matre would actually look, it is still very weird and new to me that people are into Dune. It was always a “thing” in the wider sci-fi discussion but Denis Villeneuve’s masterpiece has vaulted it into the mainstream and I’m still adjusting.

I’ve read just about everything so, from an old fan to some of our newer ones, let me get into some of the weird deep-lore of Dune. And it is SUPER weird. We’re talking “A giant phallic-shaped psychic worm god king commanding legions of lesbian space warriors” levels of weird.

This will obviously contain a lot of spoilers for later Dune books.
