‘Wednesday’ Is a Refreshing Introduction to a Familiar Character
‘Wednesday’ dropped on Netflix last week and all eight episodes are available to watch
A couple of weeks ago I had gone to an advance screening of the first episode of Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’. I did not have many expectations going in and the first episode did not disappoint. Now that the whole season has become available, we can review the show in its entirety.
If you haven’t read any of my past articles on the Addams Family (shame) or you have been living under a rock, Tim Burton has reimagined the macabre bunch for Netflix. This time the show will center around the adventures of a teenage Wednesday Addams. This is the first time we have a spin-off.
Wednesday Addams is expelled from a “normie” high school. Gomez and Morticia decide to send her to a boarding school for outcasts. Unhappy with having been sent to their alma mater, she does anything she can to escape the “prison”.
A mysterious monster shows up and attacks both the “normies” and the “outcasts” of the small town…
