The old OnePlus X (below), is a beautiful phone, but a few extra additions would’ve been nice, if only there was something in the middle of the X and the OnePlus 3.

It’s time for the OnePlus X2, and here’s my wish-list.

We all might have our own certain wish-list for what we’d like to see on the new X, but here are some features that I believe must absolutely be included, OnePlus: take notes.

Also, OnePlus has basically stated that they do not have any plans to continue making more ‘X’ series of phones, I’m assuming that’s because their ‘X’ line is their experimental line.

Which doesn’t mean that the 2015 X won’t get a successor but that it’d, and, it’ll be named differently.

The OnePlus X2 is coming and there’s a lot of unknowns, kind of uncommon these days where the public already knows everything about a phone before it’s even launched, thanks to constant leaks.

Summary:

  1. Same design, same amazing 5 inch AMOLED display.
  2. Faster performance, better cameras.
  3. Fingerprint sensor
  4. Sensible price.
  • Firstly, don’t call it X2, call it the OnePlus X 2016, that’s obvious. Moreover, it reminds of an old Nokia phone.
  • Fingerprint sensor, it’s becoming the norm these days and no matter how budget-aimed a smartphone maybe, it should always have one.
  • Fingerprint sensor on THE FRONT! Nope, not at the back, not at the sides (Sony), at the FRONT, that’s where it should always be. Period.
  • Good cameras, this is where most budget-conscious phones skimp on, but in reality, this is a really important factor, just look at the new Motorola (read: Lenevo) G4 Plus with it’s exceptional rear camera which is actually benchmarked higher (84/100) than the iPhone 6S (82) and equal to that of the 6S+ (source: DxOMark).
  • Same amazing 5-inch AMOLED display panel.
  • No MediaTek chipsets please, Qualcomm only.
  • Preferred SOC: Snapdragon 650 / 652 / 810
  • Highly unlikely: 820
  • SOCs to avoid: 617 / 410
  • Battery capacity no less than ~2500 mAh.
  • AMOLED display panel, can’t stress this enough.

Phew, that was a lot, now all of that, and a sensible price tag. Sounds tougher than it actually is, specially for OnePlus, they’ve been doing this for years.

Oh, and one more thing: flexible RAM+storage options like these.
