Hi everyone, I am Jeff Middleton, CTO at TheVault Lab. Welcome to the first of a bi-weekly series of development updates. First off, I am excited to tell you that our partnership with NEM is flourishing and really about to take off. I want to thank everyone at the NEM team. They are a spectacular group of hard-working men and women.

In the past few weeks, we have been growing our development team as well as refining what features will be included in our initial release. In fact, we’ll be unveiling a cool sneak peek in the next few weeks. In the demo, you will see how the shared blacklisting system will operate on the SCAN. SCAN stands for Security Consensus Alliance Network. It is an alliance of crypto exchanges working together to fight fraud. If you manage or own an exchange, please contact us and see how you can join an elite group dedicated to protecting and bringing crypto into the mainstream.

Lastly, I have a quick thought on the latest crypto exchange hacks. We as individuals and organizations cannot beat the hackers. What we can do is become harder targets if we decide that we have had enough and begin to work together across corporate and sovereign lines. The hackers are good at what they do. We cannot be islands unto ourselves and expect to be safe. Our only defense is to share information and build trust. There is no other way.
