While our first love is (and will always be) Whisky, we have quite a soft spot for any fine spirit, especially if it’s Australian, and even more so if it’s had a nice long sleep in an oak barrel! In this case, Rum is on our radar.

Which is why we’re really excited about a new distillery that has opened up in the bustling Surry Hills area of Sydney, Brix distillers. Most of us would tend to associate Rum with a range of bad experiences, but trust us, when it’s done right, it can be just as delicious and enjoyable on its own as many of our beloved Whiskies!

Brix has just launched a new Spiced Rum — which is quite delicious — and simply because we want to support Australian distilleries we want to tell you all about it!

PS — If you happen to be in Sydney, there’s a free launch event at Kittyhawk tomorrow night, check out the details here!

Brix Spiced

A delicate blend of our crafted Brix White and 5YO Caribbean Gold Rum; infused with cinnamon, vanilla, grapefruit & native Australian spices.

A nose full of jaffas & vanilla with hints of native lemongrass. Following through on the palate are highlights of mango, creamy macadamia, tart native bush currants & a spicy cinnamon finish.

Throw it in a mule with ginger beer and fresh lime or savour it in your espresso martini.

Brix Gold

A unique fusion of Caribbean aged gold rums created in collaboration with our international master distiller & blenders. A friend to any cocktail that needs a kick, this rich, complex blend is the inspiration for our own Brix Barrel Aged Rum.

A fruity nose of plums, raisins and blackberry jam, pair with creamy floral notes of jasmine and violets.
The palate has a delicate golden syrup sweetness followed by OAK, vanilla cake batter & butter biscuits.

Brix White
Crafted in Surry Hills from premium Australian molasses, sourced from the cane-fields of Queensland and Northern NSW. Fresh, light, and herbaceous, it’s yours to merge with a mixer or your most cherished cocktail.

A caramel, toffee, creme brulee & banana nose with a slight licorice and fennel finish. The freshness of lime zest, honeydew melon, green apple, pear and figs all show through on the palate.
