Google Pay: How to Pay through UPI — The Wise Idiot
If you’re still adding beneficiaries and using NEFT to transfer an amount to friend/service, you’re in the stone age. Paytm is fine though.
Three years ago, there were only two ways to make online payment — NEFT/Bank Cards, or through your Paytm wallets. Now, there are so many apps for online payments that it’s hard to keep up with it all. Since the birth of the UPI, it has made payments much faster and secure. You can pay your bills, travel tickets, food orders, Amazon shopping and so much more. If you’re lucky, you will also receive attractive cashback.
You do not need to download your bank UPI app specifically unless you want to, but you can download Google Pay and make payments on the fly. Here are the steps to use Google Pay UPI:
1.Open your Playstore/App Store and search for Google Pay. Once you find it, tap on Download/Install.
2. Continue with the necessary steps to connect your bank account to Google Pay. The app will guide you through the entire process.
3. Great! You now have your account linked and will see a screen as below. To make a payment, click on ‘ New ‘ to create a new payment.
4. You will see a screen with multiple options. Select the right one based on your needs. If you have the UPI ID of the person/business, tap on the ‘ UPI ID or QR Code ‘ option.
5. Select your preferred choice.
6. Enter the UPI ID of the corresponding person and tap on ‘Verify’.
7. Once the account is verified, you can proceed to make a payment of the required amount.
