Let’s say your semester is just around the corner (probably in the upcoming month) and at the same time, you have an event that you promised to volunteer in the next 15 days. Now, you have to give an equal amount of time to both because they are equally important.

Here’s a pickle: how do you plan on accomplishing it all?

The impossible is definitely possible. Let’s think of all the permutations and combinations where you could get through both the situations like a boss:

  • Dedicate 15 days to the event and only two weeks to deal with an entire semester worth of studying.
  • Think about the volume of studying to be covered and give up on being a social animal by not participating in the event.
  • Give up on both and hope for average results and that you don’t end up in such a situation in the future,
  • Come up with a badass plan, schedule everything, deal with both exceptionally and come out a star!

The most preferable choice is being the star. Remember a great human is always a star. Always.

Here are a few ways to be a star in a situation that asks you to ace both your event and your exams. Yes, it’s quite easy:

Where else will you jot down your plan and schedule? Invest in a diary that will motivate you to make plans and write down the schedule you will follow for the next month.

Time to face the harsh reality: you will never end up doing anything if you think of accomplishing things with days in hand. That’s the main reason for procrastination.

If you think about it, and probably become Sheldon Cooper for a minute, you will realise that according to this analysis, *the level of procrastination increases when one thinks to have about 26 days in hand, whereas the input of hard work and dedication is directly proportional to the thought of planning with respect to the hours in hand. So, for example, if one has about 672 hours to achieve satisfaction and excellence in two tasks, it is likely that the person will put in a lot more effort into their work.*

Capiche?

You have to be rational when you think about how you’re going to plan your tasks. You cannot just divide the time you have in hand into two halves and it’s somehow going to work.

Think of it in this way: you need your Netflix break, your Instagram breaks, all of it. So, even if you decide you’re going to be giving a few hours to the part you’ll be working or studying, make sure the breaks don’t come in the path of these few hours.

It’s only about the work you put in and never about the end results. If you keep thinking about acing the test and the event, you probably might fall sick with the amount of stress in your head, lose the time to study, and prepare for the event with the sickness.

Never forget about having fun. Even while preparing for an exam or an event, fun is a must. Having fun helps you create memories along the way, and also to take the results sportingly.

PRO TIP: YOUR EXAM, AND EVENT ARE EQUALLY IMPORTANT. MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW THE ABOVE STEPS KEEPING BOTH IN MIND.

Well, that should do the trick to achieving excellent results in both your event and your exam, and also have the right balance among the two.

If you’re ever stuck in a situation where you are between two rather essential things of your life, the key to success is a good plan and a good schedule!
