Hello everyone. Welcome to A Word, Please, the official newsletter of The Writing Prof. It’s been a while. I have exciting new updates for you.
1 — Accepting New Writers and New Submissions.
The Writing Prof is growing and needs new writers and new submissions. You can sign up to be a writer at the “Contribute” button on The Writing Prof home page (https://medium.com/thewritingprof) The best thing about being a writer for The Writing Prof is that you can be an absolute beginner or a veteran professional or anywhere in between. As your editor, I will work with you to make sure that your work has the professional polish necessary to be presented to the world.
2 — Goodbye, Atlanta. Hello, Seattle
Whiplash is settling in along with me in my new home in Seattle. Since 2018, I have moved coast to coast 4 times — SD to CT, CT to Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz to Atlanta, and now Atlanta to Seattle. But here I will stay for a while — unless I win the lottery and buy a boat with a reserved slip in Tahiti. We pulled a trailer for 9 days and arrived in Seattle on September 1, to a glorious city of sunshine and warmth without humidity. We’re walking distance to a lake and across the street from a large park. Now that we’re getting settling, it’s time to get back into the swing of things — writing, learning guitar, reading, teaching, editing — finding the joy in daily living.

In May, I completed my memoir — My Own Private Waste Land — for which I am seeking traditional publication. In order to accomplish that, it’s helpful to have an active social media following.
