During the pandemic, I decided to learn how to play guitar. Work was discontinued and the paycheck was still coming in, so I had time on my hands. I bought a starter guitar, found an online instructor, and started learning.

I have a musical background. I can read music, understand some music theory, and had played the piano for a long time. But I have tender fingers. Any time I’ve ever tried to play guitar before, my fingers hurt terribly, which I’ve learned is normal and to be expected.

Fortunately, I found JustinGuitar.com early in my guitar learning journey. Justin is a master teacher and all-around great person. He reminds me of the way I teach writing, encouraging and yet aware of the pitfalls and details that beginner’s need to be made aware of so they get off on the best track for them. His instruction meshed with my learning style.

(If you’ve ever wanted to learn guitar, I highly recommend JustinGuitar.com. He practically invented online guitar teaching, has millions of followers and thousands of students. He even has a fantastic phone app. (This is not affiliate advertising — I’m just a big fan. But, I digress . . . )
