A Brief Discourse On Method

Begin with bodies, flesh won’t lie;
end with ideas that grace the sky.
Write songs that only you can sing.
Sing them to the end of everything.
Not a liminal phase, not a way-station:
The lusty, cerebral culmination
of all you are and hoped to be;
a complete, breathing masterpiece
of what you imagine and what you see,
knowing that with time they will turn
into ashes of words in a simple urn,
all that remains when you sing and burn.
