Oh beautiful red rose!
How gorgeous you are,
With red velvet petals and a figure to crave for,
With a fragrance that is bestowed upon you, by Nature herself,
With a dark green stalk and lush greenish petals,

You give us the appearance of an incomparable beauty.
You are a symbol of beauty, of promise and of love.
And yet,

How deceiving you are!

With your luring looks and beguiling countenance,
How you fool us into trusting your cunning character!
Before we realize that we are entrapped, it is too late.
Your hidden thorns pierce our skin,
Divulging to us, your true colors.
Big drops of blood trickle down your wicked stalk,
Adorning them with your true identity.
You have lost our trust.

You have broken hearts, once again.
You have proved, that looks inveigle, and betray.

Looks are, but an act.
It is the beauty of the inner self, that has true meaning.
Open your eyes, search for it, and you will find it.
