Roses.

You’re like a rose
Beautiful and bright
Relaxing smell
wrapped around you
Like perfume
Alluring the gullible
Nature’s mist
Spread on your body
But like a rose,
You faded away
Just as easily
You couldn’t stand
the heat,
The sunlight
Drying the petals
In days of drought
You died
With winds
sweeping away
your life
The beauty
That lasts
for seconds,
The smell
that lasts
for minutes
Weak, frail
Vulnerable
You are a rose
That will soon
Fade away, die.
Gracias!
