A new Microsoft trademark filed on Dec 29th for “Xbox Series XS” is brewing speculations around the gaming industry, Is Microsoft planning a Discless Slimmer Series X to compete with the PlayStation 5 Digital?

Xbox Series S is Microsoft’s current discless console which is priced $100 below the PlayStation 5's digital version but comes with significant cuts in graphical horsepower, the machine has a 4 TF capability even though it shares the same CPU as the Series X. A 12TF discless Xbox Series XS could be the answer to the 10.2 TF PS5, the engineering of a discless series X should be simple enough, like the Xbox one S digital edition.

XBOX SERIES XS Trademark Application of Microsoft Corporation — Serial Number 90426532 :: Justia Trademarks

Look at the trademark yourself and let us know what you feel this means? Is this a trademark for a discless 12TF machine or could it be the rumored Xbox streaming stick for Xcloud? Maybe it’s just a trademark to promote both Xbox series Consoles, just a trademark for the term “Xbox Series X|S” which is saying a game is available on both S and X. What do you think?
