Be the Light
Researchers recently created a light one billion times brighter than the sun.
Imagine the light that God can produce!
In a lab at the University of Nebraska, these scientists built the brightest ever laser beam. They found that the light shining on an object actually changes its appearance.
Ultra-high energy is manifested in a change in the color of the light, making objects appear a different color. It also changes the angles light is scattered from, making it appear to be a different shape.
One of the lead researchers said, “It’s as if things appear differently as you turn up the brightness of the light, which is not something you normally would experience.”
The same thing can happen to us.
We are commanded to take upon the name of Christ and let His light shine on us.
“Ye are the light of the world,” He said.
As we absorb the light of Christ, we will change, but not just in appearance. His light will transform us fundamentally.
Moreover, as we absorb more of the light of Christ we can reflect it to others. We can become a beacon to those looking for truth.
The light of Christ does not operate on a simple on-off switch. You can continually increase its brightness.
During this Christmas season, strive to get brighter. Be the light to others. Then keep it going after the holidays and throughout your life.
You will be amazed at how intense the light can get.
