Trust in Faith
July 2022
Hezekiah was a righteous king who trusted in the Lord. He also had great faith.
Is trust different from faith?
In a sense, yes. Trust is the demonstration of faith. We grow our faith by exercising it through trust. And when we trust in God, our faith grows. Increased faith leads to greater capacity to trust.
Since his power is infinite, the more trust we have in him, the more we will accomplish.
The exercise of faith reminds me of the early Saints who settled this stake. Their anthem says a lot about trusting in God:
Come, come, ye Saints, no toil nor labor fear
But with joy wend your way
Though hard to you this journey may appear
Grace shall be as your day
Gird up your loins, fresh courage take
Our God will never us forsake
And soon we’ll have this tale to tell
All is well! All is well!
We’ll find the place which God for us prepared
Far away in the West
Where none shall come to hurt or make afraid
There the Saints will be blessed
We’ll make the air with music ring
Shout praises to our God and King
Above the rest these words we’ll tell
All is well! All is well!
Absolute trust in God will turn our fear into faith; our trials into triumphs.
