I’d Like Life to Stop Kicking Me in the Dick, Please
Just, one month without a crisis of some kind, I’m begging you.
Life has been rough lately. Toward the end of last month, my car died. Its hybrid battery gave out and my wife and I were stranded on the side of the road for an hour and a half until the tow truck came.
Thankfully, things worked out as well as could be expected, but it was still expensive — probably around $3,200 in assorted repairs and related expenses all told. I was able to get my car back in fairly short order, against all expectations, and managed to keep up with things in the interim.
Two weeks ago, my phone died randomly on a Thursday. We dropped it off at a repair shop, but I was without a phone for about six days. At the end of everything, it couldn’t be repaired. Right now, it’s a glorified brick sitting next to my computer. It cost another $500ish to get a new phone.
The day after I got my new phone (and had a hard time getting my backup loaded onto it), I went to drive to work and had a flat tire. I was able to get it to a repair shop, and they were able to fix it fairly quickly and for free because it was under warranty. Cool, at least it wasn’t that much of an inconvenience.
