People who Destroy History Intend to Repeat It

And Republicans intend to repeat the worst of it.

So, Project 2025 is in the news a lot the past few days, and for good reason. It is the blueprint for a conservative takeover of America, turning the whole country into a theocracy where, among other things, the EPA is dismantled and queer and trans folx are considered “pornographic.” Don’t take my word for it, though — go read their plan, which they published online and talk about openly like it’s a good thing.

When I talked about trans genocide in past articles, this is what I was talking about. When I talked about how taking rights away from people and declaring them not equal to you makes you the bad guys, they didn’t care because that was the point. These people want to erase the rights of people who are not like them, among many other terrible things, for reasons that I cannot even begin to comprehend.

Book burning and literally rewriting the history books was only the beginning, make no mistake. They want to take racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and bigotry in general and make it law. These people looked at America’s horrible racist past and said “let’s have more of that.”
