Mister Rogers invades House of Cards

It’s uncanny

So I’m watching House of Cards and I’m looking at Robin Wright thinking that I’ve seen the character, Claire Underwood, someplace else.

I’m not talking about seeing Robin Wright in other things, we’ve all seen her in plenty of movies and shows. No, it was something else. Something in the way Mrs. Underwood looked, acted…or something, I couldn’t put my finger on it. I kept watching, trying to figure it out and then it hit me.

I’ve seen that character before on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.

It seems clear the inspiration for Claire Underwood is Lady Elaine Fairchilde.

It’s not just the hair.
Watch and you’ll see.

And if you don’t see the similarity the next time you watch an episode, you’re crazy. It’s not just the hair, either. It’s everything. The more you watch, the more you’ll see it…and the less you’ll be able to un-see it.

And if you want to go deeper with this, Lady Elaine was always the antagonist, trying to get people in trouble…or at least making excuses. Hell, she could even turn the Neighborhood of Make-believe upsidedown!

Sounds like a politician to me.
