Bone to Pick With Mother Nature
It’s hot here. We surpassed the old record for dry days, 51, and it’s close to 90 degrees. I know this is not a problem when you live in a part of the country which needs A/C for at least three months out of the year.
When you live near the ocean, lakes and a sound, mother nature provides the A/C. Except for this year. Mom turned off the A/C for over 50 days now and refused to switch it back on.
Also, someone alerted the national media most homes in this area do not have air conditioning. The national morning and evening newscasters find our situation incredulous, proclaiming the hot temperatures and our predicament with an air of astonishment.
Oh yeah, mother nature dropped a little lightning in Canada just across the border about a week ago. Now BC is on fire, and all that smoke drifts down south.
Our spectacular scenery is obscured by a thick haze, making your eyes burn and your nose run. We just need mom to turn on the A/C again, please. Pretty please?
