Preparation: Booking Rooms & Rough Itinerary

Two days before the trip, on Wednesday, we decided to book rooms for a five-day road trip around Oregon, from Seattle. We roughly decided to spend one day in Portland, one day in Crater Lake, and two days on the Pacific Coast.

Day 1: Evening Drive to Woodland, WA — Stay Overnight

We started the trip on a Friday Evening, the weekend before the July 4th Holiday, driving 3 hours South of Seattle, and also it was my first 3-hour continuous drive.

Looking at the path we traveled @ Interstate — 5 — The Vertical Western Way & The Awesome Airbnb House that we stayed on the first night.

This was the first cross day road trip for us, and we wanted to keep the first-day less tiring. So, we had booked an Airbnb for the Friday night at Woodland, WA, so that we would be fresh on Saturday and start our day in Portland.

We stayed at John & Debbie’s awesome home, and our first Airbnb experience was no less than awesome. We did all the bookings on the last day, and got great offers that we could not get in Hotels.com or Cheaptickets.com, along with a $40 off the first booking. If you have never used Airbnb before, you can use my referral link to get a $40 off on your first booking.

Day 2 — Drive to Portland — Multnomah Falls — Columbia River Gorge Scening Area — Cascade Locks — Portland Japanese Garden — Rose Garden — Balaji Temple — Drive to Roseburg, OR — Stay Overnight

On the way back, we stopped at Diamond Lake. I don’t have any good photos worth sharing. We reached our Airbnb back at Roseberg, OR and dozed off for the day.
