Over the last few months I’ve been working on the core concept of a trustmark for IoT (that still needs a snappy name!). But until now I didn’t have a simple way to share where my thinking is at. Increasingly it became clear in all the conversations around this work that a quick overview was needed.

So here’s a slide deck that provides an overview of my plans for the trustmark for IoT. It’s not complete yet, it’s a work in progress. But: Outlines of a shape are emerging from the mist.

A note: You’ll notices that some slides have a little lock icon in the lower right corner. If this is locked, then the core idea there is locked in; others have an unlocked lock icon, so these are open for debate. I felt it was important in order to have a discussion to provide a clear framework of what’s decided and what’s yet to be worked out.

Here goes (you can also find it on Slideshare):

Draft stage: Towards a Trustmark for IoT

I’m curious to hear your thoughts. Please feel free to share them with me.

This trustmark work is part of my work at a Mozilla IoT Fellow.
