Spigen are currently the brand to beat when it comes to foldable smartphone cases

Right now and for the foreseeable future, foldable smartphones are expensive. If you’re seriously considering buying one, you’ll want to invest in a decent case in order to reduce everyday wear and help ensure it has as long a life as possible.

Here’s a full rundown on what phone cases we recommend for each of the following foldable smartphones:

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2

As the most mature foldable smartphone line, it shouldn’t really surprise anyone that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold2 has the most robust accessory ecosystem. Samsung’s own Leather, Aramid and Flip covers are a great place to start here. They’re provide a decent amount of additional protection and extend the device’s baseline premium vibes that little bit further.

If you want a few more — or cheaper — options, Spigen have you covered.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

The lineup of cases for the Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip isn’t as expansive as that of the Z Fold2. However, beyond the usual house-brand options from Samsung, there are a few places you can go.

Samsung’s official clear case for the Galaxy Z Flip

As with the Z Fold2, Spigen have the broadest range of cases here. They’re not the only option though. Urban Armor do some more hardcore cases while anccer’s cases bring another splash of color to the equation.

Huawei Mate Xs

A third party Huawei Mate Xs case

If the Huawei Mate Xs is your smartphone of choice, you aren’t exactly spoiled for choice when it comes to cases. This is especially unfortunate, given that the outward folding design of the Mate Xs makes it arguably more susceptible to everyday damage than many other foldable devices.

The official Huawei case for the device is little more than a leather pouch and what little third party support that can be found on sites like eBay, VMallWorld and others doesn’t exactly inspire great confidence.

At the time of writing, there aren’t many options when it comes to protecting the Huawei Mate X and Huawei Mate XS and there are even fewer good ones.

Motorola Razr

By comparison, Motorola’s Razr has a number of decent first and third party cases available for it. The official Razr Sleeve is the most premium option and the natural way to go here.

That being said, the Evutec S-Series Karbon case is an alternative worth considering if you’re looking to save some money without compromising on protection.
