If you’re reading this, you’re probably stuck at home with no job at the moment due to COVID-19. You probably think that there is nothing you can do but wait until the quarantine is over for things to get back to normal… think again! Believe it or not, there are actually a bunch of opportunities now online that weren’t available a few years ago. Without further hesitation, let’s get into the Top Work from Home Jobs (Quarantine Edition).

Upwork (freelancing)

If you are skilled in multiple things (such as graphic design, photography, photo editing, photo retouching, etc), this work from home job is going to be perfect for you because you can do what you love and get paid for it.

(A tip for people who don’t have multiple skills that they can monetize: use the website skillshare to get classes on the thing you want to become a professional at. Skillshare offers thousands of classes for people looking to learn a new skill for $19/month, but skillshare currently has a deal where you can get two months of skillshare for FREE!)

Fiverr (freelancing)

Fiverr is another freelancing website for freelancers to get jobs and perform tasks for money. It’s like Upwork, but it’s easier to get into. You can charge up to $1,000 for a gig, but I would suggest not charging a lot when you first post a gig because there are a lot of freelancers on there that charge quite low.

PASSIVE INCOME STREAMS

If you do not know already, passive income is income that you can receive for doing the hard work first and then just be making money while doing nothing. It’s like a great investment, time and energy-wise (if you know what to invest your time and energy into). I think this is going to be your favorite part because it only requires you to lay down the foundation and then generate income off that with a few check-ins.

Anchor (Podcasting)

Anchor is a podcast app that allows you to not only listen to podcasts, but you can easily make your own podcast and monetize it. This is great for the people who have a good talking voice and have something interesting to talk about. There is actually a YouTube video that talks about how popular podcasts have gotten within the past year and how much money podcasters make. The YouTuber Shelby Church interviews podcasters in her video that have made a decent amount of money-making podcasts.

YouTube

You’re probably tired of seeing this option, but YouTube can make you a lot of money not only from ads but also from sponsorships, affiliate links, merch, etc. If you are already doing YouTube, you probably already know the requirements to be approved for monetization (1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time within 12 months). This could require a lot of hard work to meet that requirement which includes being consistent, studying the algorithm, and knowing how to optimize your uploads so your videos can be found more easily. There are tons of videos on YouTube to learn how you can get your videos to show up on other people’s homepage and/or recommendations section. If you want to learn about how YouTube ads work, watch the video below by millionaire YouTuber/Property Manager Graham Stephan where he goes in detail about how he earns his five-figure a month income from YouTube ads.

Note: Ads are not the only way you can make money on YouTube. You can actually link your YouTube channel to your merch store and you can join an affiliate program and put affiliate links in the description of your videos which makes an easy transition into the next passive income idea.

Amazon Associates (Affiliate Marketing)

I feel like I should explain what affiliate marketing is first. Affiliate marketing is when you promote someone else’s product for a commission. The easiest way to get into this is by signing up for Amazon’s affiliate program (Amazon Associates) and the easiest way to see money from it is probably to make YouTube videos reviewing tech products because you can get an Amazon affiliate link for the product and put it in the description of your videos. If you watch tech channels on YouTube, they’re usually telling you that all the links to the products featured in their video are in the description. Well, nine times out of ten, they are either Amazon affiliate links or their links that sponsors give them. As far as I know, there is no limit to how much money you can make, so just use that to your advantage. You don’t even need a YouTube channel to make money from this. You can promote your affiliate links through a blog, Facebook post — anything really that allows you to freely post whatever.

Medium (Writing)

Even though this is the first article I’m writing for Medium, I think this should be on the list because I saw that you can make money for simply typing your concepts/ideas. I know there are other things that go into writing for Medium, but that’s pretty much what it is overall. I do this because it’s kinda therapeutic for me. Let me explain. The typing sound that my computer’s keyboard makes while I’m typing sounds oddly satisfying and that combined with being able to express my ideas without being censored or being looked at as “weird” just gives me peace.

I hope that this article was informative and gave you great ideas to start making money during quarantine.
