How To Get More Ideas
#135 Talk non-stop for 4 minutes
If you decide to write every single day you need to get ideas from somewhere. Books, audios, conversations etc. A lot of the ideas you hear disappears down to your subconscious mind.
What if you could access more of your subconscious mind, and get more ideas? Lately, I’ve tested different ways to do it, and today I decided to experiment with a new one.
Talk non-stop for 4 minutes
Today after work I decided to test something different. I set my timer for 4 minutes, then I made a rant. Whatever appeared in my mind I said.
The difficult thing is to keep the flow and don’t begin to think about what to say next. If you do it, you will slow down and let some ‘um’s get in the way.
When you speak without ‘thinking’ ideas will just pop up. You have to trust yourself that you will come up with something.
Write every day
It’s the same thing with writing every day. You need to get out of your own way and trust that you will make it happen. To sit down and just begin with a sentence.
If you want to reap the benefits you need to put in the time. You need to do the action for a while until your results improve.
If I want my verbal skills & ideas to improve I need to do this daily for 30 days etc.
To every day sit down and write something makes you get out of your own way. Even when you’re low on sleep or ill you need to write. Because of this, you have to find strategies of how to get ideas, as well how to execute.
This exercise made me realize how difficult it is to speak for 4 minutes non-stop. During these 4 minutes I felt the need to analyze a thought, but instead, I just said some nonsense. It made the flow continue.
