It’s Time To Get Up

#70 Face reality and take action

Sometimes I read stories about people who hit rock bottom. Some of them spend the rest of their life there. But, there’s a few who gets up. They overcome the obstacle.

A movie released some years ago gives a perfect perspective on what it looks like. It’s a movie about one of the world’s most known characters, Batman.

In the movie, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ you will see(spoiler alert) Batman get into a negative spiral. Every day takes him lower down, and his actions end in bad consequences.

With a wrong mindset, it began. If Batman has the capacity to get into a bad spiral in life, then we mere mortals should watch ourselves.

For eight days I’ve spent most of my time at home. I’ve had a cold during these time and it’s been an interesting time. Today I decided to get up again.

The latest days

It’s been some of my most boring, but good days in my life. When something hits you, and your body don’t feel alright. Then you feel the true gratitude of health.

When you have to spend most of your time at home for 8 days, then you realize how much you miss your old routines. You miss everything. And the fire inside of you starts to burn. You want to get out in the world and make things happen.

During these days I’ve felt boredom, but it’s been some of my best days as well. I’ve been able to reconnect with myself.

During these days I’ve learned from mentors through different mediums. As well I’ve written & programmed a lot. When you get this much free time, it’s a true test of your willpower. Are you going to spend it, or invest it?

The light above

After a lot of bad habits, Batman ends up in an underground prison. Here he gets to face reality. The only way out is to get real with himself. He needs to change his mindset, and with it, his actions.

In this prison, there’s only one way out. In the ceiling, you can see the sky, and you can get out if you want to. You just need to climb up the walls, and then you’re free.

The problem? Just one person has ever done it. A child.

To live in a prison and see this ceiling creates something powerful in us humans. It creates the feeling of hope. It makes us believe in a better future.

After a lot of mental & physical training, Batman starts to climb the walls. He wears a safety rope in case he fails. This becomes the case time after time. It’s a process of trial and error.

With time he understands why he fails. The safety rope has to go.

One last time he decides to go for it. This time, it’s either success or death. With all this pressure built up, he goes for it 100 %. The result? He gets up and life continues. The dark knight rises.

Stories

When you need inspiration & get the fire going stories like this are important. It makes you understand where accomplishments come from. Most often they come from hardship. You need to dedicate yourself in order to get up.

Most of us have some type of light above us. But only a handful ever succeeds to get up.

The majority of us see the light on a daily basis, and sometimes we try to get up. Yet, we fail every time. Why? We’re just trying. If we want to succeed, then we need to DO.

Today

This day I needed to make things happen. I began the process of getting my life back, and it started with basic things.

It began with calling around and get in touch with people. Fixing things at home and getting everything ready in order to live my normal life again.

Once you begin to take action on the life you want, then your energy starts to adapt to it. My body starts to realize what’s going on, and thus gives me more energy to get shit done.

Conclusion

What I realize about my 365-day challenge right now is how humbling it is. Every night I need to sit down and write about life. I need to face what I’ve done, and what type of actions I’ve taken. Many times I’m not impressed with what I’ve done, but I keep writing anyway.

What I’m impressed about anyhow is how all actions creates momentum. It takes me in the direction I want to go. Sometimes the actions are petite, other times they’re big. However, they give perspectives which I get to share with you.

Now it’s time to get some sleep and continue my path to getting back life as I want to have it. It’s time to make the climb tomorrow.
