Let’s Party It Up
#81 Go out by myself
Many of us go out time to time. We do it with our friends, and we drink some alcohol. It makes us more relaxed, as well more brave to do things. When we get tipsy we talk with more people, and we get out of our own way.
Today I will make an experiment which makes me thrilled while I write this part of the article. I’ve not done it yet.
I’m going out by myself tonight while being sober. Why I want to do this is because I want to get better people skills, as well get more courage. This experiment will demand much from me.
Let’s do this.
I’m back — here’s the story
Okay. This evening was an interesting one. It gave me some insights & stories I would like to share with you.
I closed the door and began to walk to the train. I knew I needed to socialize as fast a possible, to get into a sociable mood. The first person I saw I asked about the clock.
After that, I saw another person, and this time I asked about some club recommendations. We talked for 7–10 minutes, and then my train arrived.
Bought some water & gum at a store. I asked the cashier about his club recommendations. We talked for a while, and then I went down to the metro.
I was in the city. I decided to find a bar and start from there. On the way there I asked some people different questions.
I spent 20 minutes at the bar. Drank some water & coffee while I talked with the bartender. During these 20 minutes I began to make some plans for the night as well.
Made the decision to get outside again. I decided to get to the metro, and on the way there I talked with 3–4 people about different subjects.
Got some suggestions & invitations from people by text. I used Snapchat, wrote some messages & made some calls.
Began to see the difficulty of continuing the night on my own. The goal was too big, and I realized it would be better to make a smaller goal. For example, half a night by myself.
I decided to meet up with some friends, and go to a club.
We went to a club here in Stockholm, and meet a lot of people. We had a great time.
After some hours at the club, I realized I needed to get home. I’m going to work tomorrow, and need my sleep, as well write this article. Anyhow, it was a great night.
Begin to set smaller goals
Sometimes it’s difficult to go from 0 to 100. This night I realized I need to set smaller goals for myself sometimes.
Embrace the failure
If you fail with something, analyze what happened. As well, be thankful forwards yourself for taking the action. Most often we got something out of the action. I got a half night for myself, where I built new relationships as well more courage.
Don’t forget to have fun in life. If your hustling too hard you may forget to enjoy your life & friends. My intuition says this is a big part if you want to have a good life.
Of course, there needs to be a balance. You can’t party too often if you want to achieve big goals in life. But, my intuition says you should party sometimes. It will give you good vibes which you can take with you to your work. If you experiment, you will know what suits you.
