When you get the opportunity to do a challenge, do you want to run away or attack the problem? How you comprehend problems will determine your actions.
Today I attended a networking event. At the end, the toastmaster asked ‘Is there someone who wants to make the last speech?’. My intuition said ‘just do it’ and I raised my arm.
Boost your deals
Networking events may be scary for some people. To go around, pitch yourself and talk with strangers. Yet, these events can be a game changer for your career.
You never know who you’re going to meet, or what kind of businesses you may build together.
Pitch
Once I stood in before ca 40–50 persons I began to talk about this blog for 30 seconds. At the end of my pitch, I asked if someone knew any publishers.
Afterward, I got an interesting contact, and who knows, perhaps some kind of book deal will come out of it.
Opportunities
When you dare to be outside your comfort zone you may experience some kind of magic. Thanks to my intuition I was able to get a contact, as well some public speaking training. Great combo.
Conclusion
All my 170 challenges have made me quicker to take decisions. I often use the ‘three seconds rule’, which means to make a decision within these seconds. If you wait any longer, you will most likely procrastinate.
