WHAT I LEARNT FROM THE PAYSTACK YC LAGOS MEETUP
Yesterday was amazing the yc lagos meetup was amazing and very much needed for the ones applying to Y combinator. It was an awesome opportunity to be there and connect with the founders that are paving the way for the rest of us and here are the few things I learnt yesterday.
- Building a business is hard work 24/7
- You have to be ready get your hands dirty if you want to build a business.
- You never really make it. Even when you get invested in.
- There is a new age of community driven businesses who seek to help each other grow.
- Show up!! thats all.
- Ask smart questions
- Build a strong network of winners
- When you find path to success make it easier for other people behind you to follow.
- Just apply for YC you have more to gain than lose.
- We need to stop the arguments of if there is a tech ecosystem or not and realize that we need to be helping each other grow and thats all that matter and thats what shollsman is doing.
- Never give up 😊
Every event I go to I learn a little bit more about myself
It’s clear that every interaction I have with smart people I learn little bit more about myself and SENPAI and i've been sharing my idea with a lot of great minds and each time and exchange occurs it forces me to break the idea down even further and re examine it which i find very interesting because, a lot of people say the mistake people make in business is that they dont stick to one thing and the try to do everything at the same time. But how do you explain what you want to do when It's not just one thing?
Anyone building a digital agency can relate in some way.
Because as a digital agency you have the ability to almost evrything and you are forced to break down what you do to a specific niche and I think im struggling with this.
But its very key to focus on what's important and sometime that may mean figuring out your core “why”
WHY DOES YOUR BUSINESS EXIST?
Some exist to make a payment ai bot that would make payments easier
Other exist to help nigerians send and receive payment from anywhere in the world.
While talking with shollsman I couldnt help but hear myself say what was most important to me what why senpai exist.
SENPAI is exists to build the creative tech community one product, service, experience at a time.
This may sound vague to some but this is our goal and why i've started this company it may seem like a huge task but im definitely up for the challenge.
