One of the hardest things to do is to forgive someone who’s transgressed against you. Not merely because they’ve wronged, but also because they chance to be a friend, relative, or even family. And those who are closest can do the most hurt.

In this instance, the act was far from anything serious or permanent in its consequences, but trust is diminished to an atomized degree.

The Act

Imagine an individual who has been committing the immoral act A for a very long time. He wasn’t caught except for a handful of times without any serious aftermaths.

In his mind, it’s justified as long as the person it’s being done to doesn’t realize it happened to them since it’s such a petite thing in a picture as saturated and dense as life.

One day, this person decides to stop because the reason for committing this act has disappeared. Now, if it be done, then it be done out of greediness and habit and not out of need and necessity.

Well, this very individual who has stopped for loss of reason has yet again, after promising himself he wouldn’t do it once more, repeats the same act.

The consequences this time are hefty and burdenful.
