We’re proud to share that Thinkific has been announced as one of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers for 2021 by the organizers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers project! Now in its 8th year, Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers is an editorial competition that recognizes the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that offer the nation’s best workplaces and forward-thinking human resources policies.

Over the last year, we’ve seen quite a bit of change and excitement at Thinkific. We transitioned to working remote-first in March of 2020, announced $22 million of funding in September, and we have been rapidly increasing the size of our team—we’re still hiring and have 50+ jobs up on our Careers page right now! Throughout it all, one thing has remained consistent: our commitment to our people.

“These companies have proven to be extremely agile,” says Richard Yerema, Managing Editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. “Not only were they able to transition employees to working from home right out of the gate, but many already had policies in place that allowed for flexible work. It was simply a matter of extending existing benefits, such as home office allowances and internet subsidies, to make the full transition.”

Many of the reasons Thinkific was recognized on the list were ways that we were taking care of our team even prior to the pandemic, but here are a few of the highlights:

  • Ensuring our team was well supported, including by leveraging our open vacation policy and flexible work environment. Whether it was time off, adjusting working hours, or working reduced hours — our priority has been our people. Learn more in this Medium post.
  • Making sure our team had what they needed to transition to working from home — from setting up their physical workspaces and adapting our onboarding process to providing credits for meal kits and team meals.
  • Supporting Thinkers with paid parental leave top-ups — family is important to us, and our paid parental leave gives our team a little extra help as they welcome their Thinkeroos and begin a new adventure. Learn about how Harpriya grew both her family and her career at Thinkific here.
  • Offering a competitive benefits package, including up to $2000 of support for our team to take care of their mental health and a personal or health spending account that lets Thinkers invest in their wellness where they need it most.
  • Living our core value of “Learn and Grow” each day — from our baseline stipend of $1500 to support our Thinkers’ continued growth and development to lunch and learns on topics ranging from experimentation and financial literacy to unconscious bias and Canadian history through the lens of Indigenous peoples.

We’re proud to be an employer of choice, and as we continue to grow our team our focus will continue to be on supporting Thinkers.

Want to see for yourself why our team loves working here? We’re still hiring — check out our Careers page to learn about the 50+ job opportunities available with our team right now, including roles in Engineering, Data, Marketing, Sales, Support, and more!
