Trello to Omnifocus via Zapier (please)
Request for Omnifocus & Zapier integration
I have a request for a Zap:
Trello > Omnifocus
I use Omnifocus as my master to-do list, spanning all my projects across multiple clients and teams. I use Trello to publish a Kanban board to various teams.
I have created a simple Zapier workflow (a Zap) to send new Trello Card info to Omnifocus Mail Drop via Gmail. I export the following fields when a new card is made:
- Data Card Name (subject)
- Labels Name (body)
- Data Card Short URL (body)
- Due Card Due (body)
- Data Text (body)
The body text is formatted thus:

This is sent via email to my Omnifocus inbox, but I have to manually edit each new action. What I would like is a Zap to automatically create a new Omnifocus Action from a Trello Card. Like this:
- Data Card Name > Omnifocus Item
- Labels Name > Project
- Data Card Short URL > Notes
- Due Card Due > Due Date
- Data Text > Notes
If a Zapier person than I could make this work, it would be an awesome workflow.

Omnifocus doesn’t have an API so a native integration would be tricky, but you’re on the right track with your current zap. If you have a zap to send an email to your Omnifocus email address, you could automate the addition of items to Omnifocus that way.

We just added a basic OmniFocus integration, and you can use it to add Trello cards to OmniFocus automatically: https://zapier.com/zapbook/zaps/2371/turn-new-trello-cards-into-omnifocus-tasks/. Unfortunately, it can’t set the project or due date, but it can copy all the info from your Trello card into the OmniFocus task description and put it in your inbox. Hope that helps!
