Do NOT Boycott Amazon!
It’s just not the right thing to do
If you’re in a position to boycott Amazon right now, and you’ve been thinking about it, let me tell you from experience — don’t you dare!
Boycotting Amazon should be the last thing on anyone’s mind. And I mean that!
Reason I say, is because about 15 years ago maybe, a bunch of people including me got ticked off that Amazon wouldn’t stop selling a child-abuse manual which had been used by several sets of parents to torture and in some cases kill their kids. I didn’t boycott Amazon for that.
Know what I did?
I just stopped buying stuff there.
I closed my account, trashed all their emails and blocked them, cleared the history and deleted their bookmarks on my browser, and ignored them on search results. Because they’re assholes and I don’t want to do business with them and I’m in a position not to.
And what happened was, they just stopped being part of my everyday life. We broke up, adios, don’t let the door hit you. The good news is, I never missed them!
(Pro tip: If you literally never click on an ad or search result and never visit the site, Amazon doesn’t hang around your online space nearly as much.)
