The Low-Code Backend Platform

Building backends for application development can be a complex and tedious task. This has been the common assumption around building backends in the past. There is one platform though that soars above the rest in my opinion. That platform being BuildShip obviously. The reason why is that BuildShip takes a different and unique approach to building backends. BuildShip was created by the company behind Rowy, meaning they know what they are doing. I build apps using FlutterFlow and there are always pain-points when dealing with building out the backend logic and functionality. When wanting to deal with Emails, Third Party Services, or backend logic, and a bunch of other processes it can be daunting. But BuildShip is like capturing lightning in a bottle.

So, how does BuildShip help? Well they have a node based system, much like other workflow building platforms I’ve seen. The big difference what BuildShip was created for. Unlike all the other platforms I’ve seen in this category, with the exception of Fastgen, BuildShip is built for entire backend logic functionality. Meaning you can do most what you can achieve with a hand coded backend with BuildShip. Now this is stretching a bit, as a hand coded project will always be more flexible, but this can be a pro or a con depending on how you look at it. On one hand, coding is more flexible, but on the other hand, coding can be more overwhelming. When you just want to send and email to your user welcoming them to the platform when they sign up, you don’t necessarily need 8 different ways of doing that. Then you have to research which way is the best for you, how the implementation works, debugging, documenting, and the list goes on. When in BuildShip you put together a node that is pre-built using a compatible email service, or you can create a custom node with AI if you are using a non-integrated service. It makes doing things that range from simple to complex scheduled CRON jobs very easy and exciting. They have many node types to pick from and the AI node builder is truly next level. I personally love BuildShip because they seem like the first logic builder like this that balances the flexibility of code with the productivity of low-code. I am using it to create TEC-Head, which is an application I’m making that I am showing more on soon. It is an AI app that uses ChatGPT to generate technology related courses. I use FlutterFlow, Plasmic, BuildShip, and Appwrite. It is a really amazing and straight forward approach to building a complex app with much more speed and ease than most traditional approaches in my opinion.

Some of the great features of BuildShip include:

  • User-Friendly Interface
  • Drag-and-Drop Builder
  • Responsive Design
  • Customizable Templates
  • Real-Time Collaboration
  • Integrated Analytics
  • SEO Optimization
  • E-Commerce Capabilities
  • Third-Party Integrations
  • Custom Domain Support
  • Secure Hosting
  • 24/7 Customer Support
  • Flexible Publishing Options
  • Version Control
  • Personalized Onboarding
  • Custom Widgets and Plugins
  • Automated Workflows
  • Cloud Storage
  • User Permissions and Roles
  • Scalable Solutions

BuildShip is truly unbelievable. This platform is like no other, they really do an extremely good job at answering the problem they were built to achieve. That problem being how do we perfectly abstract a platform just enough where you can access the low-level versatility and the high-level ease of use and aim that at backend application logic and development. Something so balanced that you can easily complete enormous tasks clean, simple, and incredibly fast. If you are looking for a great workflow builder, Buildship is our recommendation. The best part is BuildShip has a generous free tier to test it out and see if you like it. Let us know what nodes you create by sharing about them in the responses below. Don’t stop coding your mind!
