This is a shoutout to two women who made my brothers the luckiest men on earth: Hasliza Ali and NUr HQmah.

Thank you for taking a bet on my brothers to spend the rest of your life with. Thank you for taking them into your family and your life.

Thank you being great mothers to my nieces and nephew, for always striving to give them the best that you can that every day they amaze me as they grow into amazing individuals that they are, for always teaching them from your hearts good values in dealing with others, for always bringing fun and joy into their lives when you play with them.

Thank you for being great daughters to my parents, for sharing “ladies’ talk” with Mak in a way that I never could, sharing your joy over shawls and long dresses, over the fun of parenthood, for always giving your time to Abah and cooking his favorite food.

Thank you for bringing into our lives my amazing nieces and nephew who keeps expanding our hearts with love. Little as they are, I’m sure my parents and brothers wouldn’t disagree with me that — THEY CHANGED OUR LIVES. From the first moment when there were pitter patter of Aqilah’s little feet, and later followed by Zulfa’s delightful laugh — our world was turned upside down and we see the sun every day. Aliya’s dainty little ways, Safiya’s strong resolve and of course Abid’s bursting energy; they are and will continue to be the guiding stars of our family.

And thank you for being the sisters that I never have, for accepting me just the way I am and for always giving me space in your home and family.

Both of you are the strongest, kindest, most patient, most amazing women with beautiful hearts I’m proud to know and welcome to our family.
