Dieing

Photo by Karolina Grabowska from Pexels

She announced she was dieing, and I read it, but I was optimistic.

Foolishly so.

We laid out great plans, a German Shepard, a nice little house.

Both of us working hard, and maybe I would be a boy scout leader.

Children were out of the question.

And then the process.

The process was the marathon of caregiving.

And then just as she had announced it was over.
