The other night, I was sitting around an outdoor fire with a group of my best friends. This was the first time we had all been together (outside, at a distance) since this whole shit show began.

“One of the worst things is that I’ve been so bored!”

“I know! Me too!”

Huh? That surprised me. The two speakers are bright, creative women. One works full time and one is not currently working.

I wanted to say “I’m never bored!” but didn’t want to sound like I was bragging.

But it’s the truth. I can’t remember being bored in a long, long time.

Currently, I am only working very part-time — two mornings a week — yet on my days off, the time just flies by. And I don’t watch T.V., play video games or drink.

Here are a few things I do every day.

I have a morning routine, but it’s flexible.

I never sleep in. I get up pretty early — 6 A.M. — without hitting snooze, even on days I’m not working. I go downstairs to my comfy chair and do a short, guided meditation. There are thousands of meditations on YouTube for free — I have a bunch saved in a folder and just choose one. Sometimes…
