Donald Trump’s ICE is now mostly deporting people who have come from countries where most people are poor, oppressed, and desperate enough to walk thousands of miles to seek safety and opportunity. But powerful leaders almost always eventually come for anyone who might diminish their power.

There’s something about unlimited power that gives rise to evil, something about evil that gives rise to paranoia, something about paranoia that makes almost everyone a target.

Like the Grandma who is pictured above. I read about this grandmother several days ago in a post on Facebook written by a woman I follow there, Tracy Endo. Here is the post:

Yesterday, I took a woman to her ICE check-in.

She’s not a criminal. She has no record. None here, none in her home country. She came to the US because she feared for her life every single day where she once lived. She came for safety. She came for peace. She came to live.

She’s a mother of three, a grandmother of five (all who live locally), and she works a good, steady job. She contributes to her community and does…
