Y’all laughed when we sounded the alarms. I wrote about the SAVE Act back in September 2024. Other writers, scholars, and human rights leaders warned of this assault on voting rights. Is this the Liberty promised?

I’m so damned tired — and getting tireder every single day. My head is full of disappointment, alarm, and resignation. I just want to run away.

I suppose that’s the baseline survival response. Maybe it’s a kind of hope, the idea that escape is possible. But… I’ll carry on fighting, loving, and living as best I can.

The SAVE Act Disenfranchises Married Women

The SAVE Act passed in the MAGA-controlled US House of Representatives. MAGA Republicans say the bill means to prevent non-citizens and “illegal” aliens from voting — long proven to occur less than 0.0001% of the time. We have always had laws against it.

Most women vote Democrat and most men vote Republican. The way the law is written will primarily disenfranchise married women who take their husbands’ names; married women will be the single largest demographic…
