“This America” Style Manual
Our publishing bible for all articles in this publication
Mission Statement
This America is a publication gathering reliably source-supported, well crafted writing. Trump is actively and aggressively implementing Project 2025 and an extreme oligarchical agenda. Our mission is to provide a place for op-eds on news, satire pulled from the headlines, and creative writing on this unfolding lunacy.
We publish writings expounding on American news. We do not exclude writers outside the States from participation. This America understands that what the USA does impacts the world. Everyone around the globe has a stake in this.
Be sure to use “This America” for the 5th (last) of your five topics when you submit posts. Please be patient — our editors are all volunteers. And we are busy writers ourselves, as well as editors for other publications.
Membership is by invitation and based on the substance and professionalism of your existing work.
Publishing Guide
Writers may publish only once per day. If you make multiple submissions on the same day, only one will be chosen and the rest will be cleared from the queue. Before submitting, carefully check your grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
All submissions must be in English. Your submissions must provide reliable sourcing of the topics/themes covered. We welcome topical satire or fiction, but please provide reliable and factual sources for your inspiration.
NOTE: There are four ways to include your sources. An “in-copy” notation is the linked name of the source enclosed in brackets at the end of the paragraph; it will appear thusly: [Name of Source/News agency]. “In-body” quotation includes the source within a sentence; this is preferred especially when a single paragraph references multiple sources. For This America, we expect our posts to be reliable sources of information, even when they are satire and/or creative writings.
