Why the ‘No Kings’ Protests May Create Significant Change

For the first time since fascists began waging war on us six months ago, I think We-the-People just might win

I carried this flag at my local “No Kings” protest. It was windy, and oh my goodness, my poor back! But it was worth it.

All those in favor of fascism

The day after his big beautiful parade cum birthday party with tanks, Donald Trump claimed that 250,000 people attended the event. However, images of the event showing half-filled bleachers and sparse scatterings of MAGA followers across the grassy areas make it obvious that he lied. The actual number at the event may have been no more than 25,000 or 30,000.

To get even that high a figure of 25,000, you probably need to add the estimated 5,000 to 6,000 people who were misdirected by confusing maps provided to them by the event organizers, and who never even found the entrance. Except, you’d then have to subtract at least that many to account for the people who left early. Some of them left even before the fascist-in-chief spoke.
