Top 5 Reasons “2 Dope Queens” is on all the Top 2016 Podcast Lists
The internet loves its lists and these two fiercely funny women
I love Jessica Williams, and gladly welcome any way to have her in my life on a regular basis. Thankfully she and equally great comedian Phoebe Robinson understand this need, and created their podcast “2 Dope Queens.”
Public radio studio WNYC Studios produces “2 Dope Queens,” a comedy podcast Williams and Robinson began in April. Each episode is a recording of a live comedy show, featuring the two BFFs talking and riffing about their lives, followed by a host of their other comedian friends. The whole premise is so easy and accessible as a podcast, and perf for any long commute.
“Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams are funny. They’re black. They’re BFFs. And they host a live comedy show in Brooklyn. Join the 2 Dope Queens, along with their favorite comedians, for stories about sex, romance, race, hair journeys, living in New York, and Billy Joel. Plus a whole bunch of other s**t.” WNYC Studios
“2 Dope Queens” is casual, smart, honest, hilarious, and the whole damn world loved it this year. This podcast existed for a few months and has appeared or topped several different “best podcasts of 2016” lists — and these were only the ones I found in an immediate Google search:

Podcasting was the hot new thing in 2016, and one that featured two incredibly talented and funny black women was the shit. But in case some people need more convincing, here are my own reasons why I love these 2 Dope Queens.
1- You really want to hang out with them
Look at those two magical women. Listen to their stories, banter, wit. How can you not want to spend every second of every day with them? Or at least every Tuesday when new episodes come out.
2- You know some really entertaining shit goes down at these shows
Nothing gives you more FOMO than hearing an awesome show. The live format of “2 Dope Queens” adds to the energy of each episode, hosts, and comics.
3- Robinson and Williams keep it real
In this episode, the Queens share a few thoughts on the election. Plus Langston Kerman writes poetry, Emmy Blotnick has…www.wnyc.org
Both are women are woke af, and talk about some real stuff that goes on in their lives. With humor!
4- They get some pretty cool guests
They know some people
5- Their social media is 🔥
“2 Dope Queens” is the perfect antidote to a not-so-awesome 2016. And thankfully, it’ll be around in case something goes wrong in 2017 too. Listen on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, WNYC, and where ever else podcasts are podcast-ed.
