Heavenly Father,
Thank you for today. Thank you for all you have provided me and for my family. I know that we’re not promised tomorrow but I humbly thank you for allowing me to see this day. To spend it with my family and to watch another sunrise and another sunset. While I don’t know what the future holds for me but I do know who holds it.
Thank you for giving me this peace that surpasses all understanding, and for the assurance of an eternal future with You.
In your name I pray, Amen.
Author’s Note: Today is my birthday but last April I suffered a near-fatal heart attack. Ever since, I’d wake up each morning and give thanks to the Lord for the second chance!
