Child

Katie M. Berggren
-In Love, Honour and Respect and Awe of every Child-

I wish that my arms were longer.

I wish I could collect all the tears I have cried.

I could embrace you, all of you, and tell you that this heart will protect you forever.

I could wash every scar, every wound, every pain and every dis-ease away- to the magnificent stars that created you.

Yes, you are the stars, my stars.

Here, are my outstretched arms, it’s ok.

Your hands and feet, I will anoint with potions of Love and Peace.

With my third-eye, I shall kiss you.

Katie M. Berggren

I wish I could have you smile, for every time you have wept.

I wish I could have you laugh for every time you have wailed.

I wish I could have you see beauty, for every time you have seen ugliness.

I wish I could hold your face in my hands, and, tell you that all is well in the universe.

That, all this and more will come to pass, and that my arms will be around you, that your head will be safely cushioned on my shoulders.

Child. I wish you could believe me.

I wish that my arms were longer.
