my own thing

I didn’t see the Non-profit as being a permanent job. The idea was that it was going to be a stepping stone.

My interest has always been in starting my own business, my own startup, creating something of value out of nothing. I’m not sure why, and if I was to seriously mull over this topic it’d take this post way off course. So for now, let’s leave it at just that — I want to start my own thing.

With that in mind, the Non-profit seemed like the perfect option. In the course of my job I would meet entrepreneurs, government folks and investors. Furthermore, coming from the Bank, work in the Non-profit should be a piece of cake, right?

I remember telling myself and my girlfriend that once I left the Bank, I would have time to go to the gym, get in shape again and start my own thing on the side.

Well, I suppose I have done the thing on the side.
