Medium invites you to write

This time, I’m not just reading

Not sure why, just got an email from yourfriends@medium.com (which somehow I read “my friends at medium”) that’s teasing me with a Learn more about posting on Medium.

In two clicks I’m here, at the composer. I know it sounds kind of ‘basic’ but, until today, I had just read about Medium, the experience, the build. Now I’m here, not just reading, but writing.

Languages

I’m not a native English speaker but again, I’ve been reading Medium for quite sometime and I started seeing Portuguese, Spanish and there’s even a We Are SouthAmerican Bloggers collection (I’m from Argentina, and yes, we’re now worldwide known for Francis, The Pope).

On the other hand, I’ve a couple of friends who are writing in English.

Why am I writing in English?

I’m not sure. I’m thinking that, in some way, the platform is asking me to write in its original language (if that makes any sense), see how the typography interacts with me (I’m a designer), how things work, how things ‘sound’. Then, when I feel comfortable, I’ll go ‘multi-language’.

Good move, Medium

I was thinking: ‘hey, this is getting kind of boring’ and these guys send me an invitation to write. Well done.

I guess I’ll be seeing you around, welco(me) to Medium.
